Delivery Methods

Design-Bid-Build (DBB)

Traditional project deliver method where design is at 100% and the selected contractor builds the owner’s design.

Design-Build (DB)

The owner brings the design up to approximately 30% and then contracts for the project to be final designed within certain specifications and then to build the project per that design. This contracting method can provide time savings and innovation over Design-Bid-Build projects.

General Contractor/Construction Manager (GC/CM)

This delivery method has a construction management and general contractor teamed together. This GCCM team works with the owner’s design team to finalize a design. Then the general contractor builds a certain percentage of the project and puts out the remaining percentage to bid for other contractors.

Public-Private Partnership (PPP)

This is a delivery method where a longer term contract with a public entity is used by a private company to develop, build, operate, and maintain, a normally pubic project. The users of the project pay for the costs.
