O’Neill Service Group (OSG), a growing local business, is interviewing for an Environmental and Stormwater Project Scientist position in Redmond, WA.
Environmental and Stormwater Project Scientist position duties can include: a) formal wetland delineations following U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Washington State Department of Ecology, and local jurisdictions guidelines, b) stream characterizations mostly associated with determining ordinary high water mark (OHWM), c) GIS/GPS mapping of environmentally sensitive areas, d) JARPA application completions, e) monitoring contractor work activities to ensure compliance with environmental permits, f) review and comprehension of project drawings and specifications, and local, state and federal regulations; g) collecting water and soil samples; h) screening and managing site soils at contaminated sites; i) writing plans and reports; j) mentoring junior staff; and k) building positive relationships with clients, regulators and owners.
We are looking for self-motivated individuals that are dependable, thorough and who have excellent communication skills. Our commitment is to provide quality through every phase of the project; regular attendance, good technical skills and an eye for detail are mandatory. Three to five years of experience preferably in the pacific northwest, experience with the JARPA permit application process, performing environmental inspections including stormwater BMPs, turbidity monitoring, and soil and water sampling for contaminates is required. CESCL certification and 40-hour HAZWOPER training is highly desired. Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.), experience making illustrations using GIS or other computer based tools such as CAD is also desired. Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or other Biological or Natural Resource Field, Geology, or Engineering is preferred.
